On August 23, on the initiative of the Ministry of the High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, the “Neruzh 4.0” Diaspora Tech Startups Program was launched in Dilijan, Armenia.
Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Robert Khachatryan, Vice President of the National Assembly of the RA Hakob Arshakyan, Governor of the Central Bank of the RA Martin Galstyan, program participants and guests took part in the official opening ceremony of the event.
Minister Robert Khachatryan had an opening speech, welcoming the attendees and noting that this event, which is being held for the fourth time, proves that “Neruzh” is a well-established and stable program, one of the main goals of which is to ensure technological immigration from the Armenian Diaspora to Armenia.
“Our participants, who live, study and work in different countries of the world, bring with them to Armenia the experience of these countries, new ideas and culture, which, being successfully localized, give new ideas to the technological sector”, – said the Minister.
Robert Khachatryan expressed confidence that as a result of the discussions held during the event, new projects, business ideas and cooperation will be formed that will contribute to the economic progress of Armenia and the development of the startup ecosystem. He also wished success and effective work to the participants of “Neruzh 4.0”.
Hakob Arshakyan, Vice President of the National Assembly of the RA, mentioned the positive impact of the “Neruzh” program on the technological community of Armenia, expressing hope that it will be expanded over time. According to Hakob Arshakyan, “Neruzh” should turn into a “Pan-Armenian games” in the technology sector, giving the opportunity for technology companies and startups based in the Armenian Diaspora to get involved in the economic life of Armenia institutionally and on a larger scale, and together with the local startup ecosystem, build bridges between Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora.
Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan reaffirmed CBA’s continuous support to the “Neruzh” program, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and innovation.
Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Davit Sahakyan, in his turn, presented the features of the “Neruzh 4.0” program, noting the changes that were made compared to the programs implemented in previous years.
22 teams from 7 countries of the world participate in the program this year. The companies applying for the program from the USA, France, Russia, Georgia, Canada, Brazil, Germany have the following directions: agriculture, energy, healthcare, biotechnologies, educational technologies, etc.
The “Neruzh 4.0” agenda is full of lectures, seminars, mentoring meetings, cultural visits, entertainment events. The program will last until August 27, when the official closing ceremony of the event will take place and the winners of the program will be announced, who will be decided by the previously formed committee.
